Tinashe Sambiri– The Action Democratic Movement (ADM) has called on Zimbabweans to boycott the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, describing the country as “independent on paper—but where is the freedom?”
In a statement released on Thursday, the opposition group highlighted the persistent challenges facing the nation. “No jobs. Collapsing hospitals. Corruption. Voices silenced.
A Constitution under threat,” the statement said. “There is nothing to celebrate while the majority suffer.”
The ADM urged citizens to make a stand on 18 April. “Boycott Independence Day. Stay home. Send a message. No to symbolic independence. Yes to real freedom,” the statement read.
The campaign is being promoted under the hashtags #NoTo2030, #DefendTheConstitution, and #RealFreedom.
