Tinotenda Hove – Former President Robert Mugabe’s son, Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe, has blasted controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo following the arrest of Chivayo’s former wife, Sonja Madzikanda, and her mother.
The arrests sparked widespread debate on social media before Chivayo reportedly withdrew the charges against the pair.
Reacting on Saturday, Chatunga posted a strongly-worded statement accusing Chivayo of abusing power and humiliating the mother of his children together with her mother.
“Pain goes straight to mukuru wekuvhara vanhu kumeso nemota,” wrote Chatunga.
“You can call me what you want, but shoko ngarisvike ikoko and shoko rasvika you have responded.”
He went on to criticise Chivayo over the arrest of his former mother-in-law, saying: “The first Zimbabwean man kusungisa ex wife naAmbuya. Iwe budisa ambuyawasha mujeri ndimbuya vevana wako urimadzibaba rudzii.”
Chatunga also appeared to take aim at Chivayo’s lavish gifting culture, adding: “Usabate vanhu kumeso nekuvatengera mota. Hakuna madzibaba vanosungisa Amai vevana naAmbuya.”
Referencing musician Winky D, he added: “Winky D said, ‘rudo kana rwapera rwapera usafaite iko katsika kekuda kufixer wawasiyana naye murudo.’”
He concluded the statement by announcing charitable visits in Marondera, saying: “Today we are in your town helping the needy at PaKukura Neshungu School, Idawekwako Old People’s Home and Nyameni Orphanage.”
Earlier this week, Chatunga had also posted another message seemingly directed at Chivayo.
“Never show respect to a man who uses temporary political power to attack the mother of his children and Ambuya vako, then pretends to spend a night on a mountain praying to a loving God. Which God?” he wrote.
“Hatisimbise zvakadhakwa. Mwari ndiye mukuru weNguva.”
