Tinotenda Hove- Four people were killed instantly while six others suffered serious injuries following a horrific head-on collision along the Ngundu-Tanganda Road on Thursday night.

The fatal crash occurred at about 8pm at the 2km peg, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

Police said a Toyota Probox, which was carrying 10 passengers and travelling in the direction of Ngundu, collided head-on with a Hino rigid truck travelling towards Chiredzi.

All four victims who were travelling in the Probox died at the scene, while the six survivors sustained serious injuries and were rushed for medical attention.

“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 20/08/26 at approximately 2000 hours, at the 2km peg along Ngundu-Tanganda Road,” police said in a statement issued on Friday.
“Four passengers in the Toyota Probox died on the spot, while six others sustained serious injuries,” the statement added.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
