Tinotenda Hove — Opposition movement Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) has issued a New Year’s Day statement calling on Zimbabweans to unite behind a renewed push for national transformation, urging citizens to embrace hope, determination, and collective action in the year ahead.

In a message addressed to the nation, the party extended New Year greetings while presenting its vision of a “better Zimbabwe,” anchored on unity and grassroots mobilisation.

The statement invites Zimbabweans from all walks of life to rally behind the movement’s leadership as it seeks to reshape the country’s political and social future.

“Happy New Year Zimbabweans! It’s time to chart a new course for a better Zimbabwe!” the statement reads.

FFC likened its political journey to a sailing ship, calling on citizens to come aboard and be part of what it describes as a shared national mission. “The Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) is inviting you to join our sailing ship, led by President Michael Makaza, towards a brighter future for all,” the party said.

Emphasising inclusivity and national unity, the movement used both Shona and Ndebele to reinforce its message of togetherness. “Huyai mose! Wozani lonke!” the statement declared.
Addressing party leaders and supporters at the grassroots level, FFC stressed the importance of collective effort in the year ahead. “To our FFC leadership and grassroots supporters, let’s work together to make this year count! Let’s take Zimbabwe forward with unity, determination, and hope,” the statement said.

The message was signed by FFC National Chairperson Milton Zulu, who encouraged Zimbabweans to formally engage with the movement through its online platforms. “Join the Movement,” the statement urged, directing supporters to the party’s official Facebook page.

As the new year begins, FFC says it remains committed to mobilising citizens and positioning itself as an alternative voice for change in Zimbabwe’s evolving political landscape.
