Tinotenda Hove- Former President Robert Mugabe’s son, Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe, on Monday 17 November 2025 reflected on the dramatic events of November 17, 2017, when his father was removed from power.
In a strongly worded post, Chatunga took a swipe at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration, saying the country was now in a far worse state than during Mugabe’s rule. He accused the current leadership of failing to deliver on the promises made during the 2017 takeover.
Chatunga wrote on Facebook:
“On this day November 17, ndiro zuva ratakadzingwa paState House vanhu vachipembera zvekuti. 💔 Kutengesa fridge wotenga cooler box..”
His remarks have ignited fresh debate on social media, with many reflecting on the past eight years and whether the 2017 military-assisted transition has delivered the change Zimbabweans expected.
