By A Correspondent – The Kwenda Foundation has outlined an ambitious long-term vision aimed at transforming lives through philanthropy, education, community empowerment and sustainable development.
The Foundation says although children and youth empowerment through education, creativity, leadership development and creating opportunities remain central to its work, its mission reaches much further by supporting vulnerable families, promoting compassionate community development and building partnerships that deliver lasting social impact.
Speaking on Tuesday, Kwenda Foundation Chairman Kundai Thomas Kwenda said philanthropy is more than a responsibility to him—it is a lifelong calling.
“Philanthropy is my passion,” Kwenda said.
He explained that the Foundation is driven by the belief that every positive action, no matter how small, can contribute to meaningful change.
“Every drop counts. No contribution towards improving humanity is too small, and we remain committed to doing everything within our capacity to create lasting positive change,” he said.
The Foundation also aims to promote responsible stewardship of resources, implement practical community-based initiatives and work with partners who share its vision of improving lives.
Kwenda encouraged people facing difficult circumstances not to lose hope, saying his own journey demonstrates that success is achievable despite humble beginnings.
“Learn from me, you can make it,” he said.
His personal motto, “From the streets to success,” reflects the message he hopes will inspire young people and communities to believe in the power of determination, resilience and opportunity.
Through its programmes, the Kwenda Foundation says it intends to create sustainable solutions that uplift communities while promoting compassion, empowerment and hope for future generations.
