Sports Correspondent -Warriors head coach Ramon Catala says Zimbabwe will go for all three points when they host the Democratic Republic of Congo in a crucial AFCON 2027 Group E qualifier at the National Sports Stadium on Monday.

The match, which kicks off at 6pm CAT, marks the Warriors’ first home game in almost five years after the stadium ban was lifted.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Catala admitted the DRC will be tough opponents but insisted Zimbabwe’s objective is clear.

“We’re expecting a difficult match, but our goal will be on winning, getting the maximum points and being closer to qualification,” Catala said.

Zimbabwe head into the encounter on three points following their dramatic 3-2 win over Sierra Leone in the opening round, while DRC sit top of the group on goal difference after beating Equatorial Guinea 2-0.

A win on Monday would see the Warriors leapfrog the Leopards and take a major step towards securing a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
