Shock as Toddler with Severe Injuries Vanishes from Parirenyatwa

Harare – Concerns are mounting for a severely injured 18-month-old girl whose parents abruptly removed her from Parirenyatwa Hospital and disappeared, following a series of contradictory statements about the origin of her life-threatening injuries.

The situation unfolded when a concerned individual, acting as a good Samaritan, received a picture of the injured child from a whistleblower, two hours after the incident occurred on an unspecified recent date.

It is reported that the Samaritan immediately offered assistance, arranging for transport to take the child and her parents, identified only as “the father” and “Cleo” – to Parirenyatwa Hospital.

It is alleged that the child’s mother is the daughter of a local prominent Chief in Zimbabwe.

“Initially, the father refused to give me his address, but I suspect that his wife actively blocked him from telling me what truly happened to their daughter,” said a source.

It is alleged that, after persistent calls, the father relented, providing a Cranborne address. A cab driver collected the family, and the child was admitted to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for treatment.

However, the story took a suspicious turn when the father contacted a relative, reportedly requesting money, claiming the family was moving immediately to Beitbridge.

When questioned about accommodation, the wife allegedly stated her mother had a house there. This claim directly contradicted information known to the whistleblower and another individual involved, Samantha, that one of the father’s sisters had been paying the baby’s father’s rent while he lived in South Africa.

Alarmed by this sudden plan and the earlier evasiveness, Samantha contacted Parirenyatwa Hospital. A doctor confirmed the family had discharged their daughter, claiming they were transferring her to a private hospital.

Conflicting Accounts and Unexplained Injuries

“There is a location contradiction where the mother of the minor reportedly told the hospital the injury occurred while she was at her father’s house. However, the cab driver had picked the family up from their Cranborne home – the location which is likely the actual scene of the incident,” reported the source.

The mother of the child allegedly informed hospital staff that the child suffered burns from hot water used to make baby formula by her sister. Yet, this account contradicts everything that the whistleblower knows about the situation.

“The claim of moving the child to a private facility was a fabrication designed to cover their tracks and flee. It was a way for them to run away from the crime scene and go underground,” said the source.

The child’s condition is described as critical. She is reportedly suffering from severe internal injuries around her chest and neck, rendering her unable to eat. Her current whereabouts and medical status are unknown since her removal from Parirenyatwa Hospital.

Authorities have not yet been publicly identified as involved, but the circumstances – severe unexplained injuries to a toddler, contradictory parental stories, and a sudden disappearance – point to potential child endangerment and a desperate need to locate the child for urgent medical care and investigation.

The whistleblowers are appealing for any information that could help locate the missing family and ensure the safety of the injured child. The focus remains on finding the little girl before her injuries prove fatal.
