Siyai Mangena- A Masvingo-based prophet, Isaac Makomichi (30), has shocked the public after reports emerged that he is selling what he calls *”anointed bugs”* (*tsikidzi dzakaropafadzwa*), which are allegedly capable of restoring lost lovers and exposing adulterers.

The bizarre practice has left many questioning whether modern-day prophets are still operating under divine power or resorting to unholy methods.

According to reports, Prophet Makomichi is offering these so-called “anointed bugs” to clients who believe their partners have been taken by someone else. The bugs are said to manifest after prayer and are either sold or hired for a limited time. They allegedly bite the person who has interfered in someone’s relationship, prompting confessions or even breakups.

One case involves the Tembo family from Chihota, who claimed to have invited Prophet Makomichi to deal with persistent misfortunes in their household. It is alleged that the prophet arrived with a tin of bugs, which began biting one of their uncles — but not anyone else. The uncle reportedly confessed to wrongdoing shortly after, and the bugs disappeared.

Another testimony came from Mercy in Mutare, who praised Makomichi’s intervention for bringing her husband back from Marwei. Her husband, Innocent, said:

“I was bitten by the bugs the entire night, and in the morning, I found myself going back to the family I had abandoned. My wife later told me she was the one who hired the bugs. I personally paid for the bug prayer service, even borrowing the money. We were bitten so badly that the girlfriend I was living with had to spend the night elsewhere. I asked my wife for forgiveness, and now we’re doing well. I thank Prophet Makomichi, who brought me back to the right path.”

Many others have come forward claiming that Makomichi’s spiritual method has helped heal relationships and expose infidelity.

However, critics remain skeptical. A rival religious figure, Madzibaba Mozie, commented:

“Makomichi’s practices have been rejected by the cross. Every time he returns from Ghana, he comes back with a new miracle. Just look at his passport for proof.”
