For years, residents of Mberengwa in the Midlands Province had to travel hundreds of kilometres to access specialist medical care, including caesarean sections and major surgical procedures. That story has now changed.

The Second Republic has upgraded Mberengwa District Hospital with modern, international-standard equipment, bringing relief and joy to the community.

The hospital has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including machines for premature births, equipment for major surgeries, quality hospital beds for admitted patients, and an adequate supply of medicines.

Residents say they are overjoyed by the development and have expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his government for transforming healthcare delivery in the district.

One elderly resident, Mr. Shangwa, described the upgrade as the best news of his life.

“I no longer have to worry about travelling to Gweru Provincial Hospital because everything we need is now here in Mberengwa. We thank President E.D. Mnangagwa for this great work, and also our resident Minister, Honourable Owen Ncube, for working tirelessly to ensure that Government remembers us,” said Mr. Shangwa.

Health is life, and when a government prioritizes the health of its people, it shows that it truly cares for them.
