Tinotenda Hove – Freedom Fighters for Change leader Michael Makaza has launched a blistering attack on corruption, declaring that Zimbabwe has reached a breaking point due to relentless looting and mismanagement of public resources.
Speaking on Monday, Makaza said his party would not stand idle as the nation continued to bleed from what he described as “a litany of scandals that have crippled Zimbabwe’s development.”
“The people’s cause is clear—enough is enough!” Makaza declared. “Our country is being plundered through corruption, and the list of scandals is endless.”
He cited several high-profile cases, including the ZESA scandal, the gold mafia, lithium looting, state mine plunder, land grab scandal, Munhumutapa funds scandal, pension money scandal, GMB scandal, RBZ scandal, and the Chiyadzwa diamond scandal.
“These scandals represent the decay at the heart of our governance,” said Makaza. “The people have suffered enough while a few enrich themselves at the expense of the nation.”
Ordinary citizens echoed the frustration. One resident lamented, “I’ve lost my livelihood due to ZESA’s mismanagement.” Another said, “Our land was taken without compensation.” A pensioner added, “Our pension funds were looted, leaving us with nothing.”
Makaza said his movement, Freedom Fighters for Change, was committed to fighting for transparency and justice.
“We will not stand idly by while our resources are plundered and our people suffer,” he vowed. “We are calling on every Zimbabwean to rise and demand accountability. Together, we can build a better Zimbabwe.”
He concluded with a rallying call: “#WeMove towards a transparent, accountable, and just society.”
