Tinotenda Hove — Opposition political party Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) has demanded a massive reduction in passport fees, saying current charges are preventing ordinary Zimbabweans from accessing a basic right to travel and explore opportunities abroad.

In a statement issued Monday, the party said the cost of obtaining a passport is far beyond the reach of many citizens and must be slashed.

“Can’t afford a passport? You’re not alone! Every Zimbabwean deserves a passport. Let’s slash the price by 90%!” FFC declared.

The party framed the issue as one of justice and equality, calling on the public to unite behind its push for affordable passports.

“This is about fairness. No Zimbabwean should be blocked from getting a passport because of financial barriers,” the statement read.

FFC also announced the official launch of the party, set for September 13, 2025, urging citizens to attend and support their campaign.

“Join us on Sept 13, 2025, for our party launch and let’s fight for passport justice together! #WeMove,” the party said.

The demand comes as public frustration grows over the rising cost of essential documents, with FFC presenting itself as a new voice determined to champion ordinary people’s struggles
