Tinotenda Hove– Citizens Movement leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has saluted the Zimbabwe Sables for their thrilling 30-28 victory over Namibia in the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup final, describing the historic win as a turning point for the nation.
Taking to social media on Sunday, Chamisa congratulated the national rugby team for their achievement, which secured Zimbabwe’s qualification for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia—their first appearance at the global tournament in over three decades.
“CONGRATULATIONS @SablesRugbyZW for winning the Rugby Africa Cup 2025!” Chamisa posted. “This is such a historic milestone. An indicator of ‘more wins’ to come!! This is a nation building moment.”
The final, played in Kampala, Uganda, saw the Sables dig deep to overcome a formidable Namibian side in a nail-biting encounter. The win not only ended a 34-year World Cup drought but also ignited national pride and jubilation across Zimbabwe.
