Tinotenda Hove- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released registration numbers of vehicles caught on camera flouting red traffic lights in Harare’s Central Business District.

Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the violations were captured through the Electronic Traffic Management System and warned that all implicated vehicle owners must cooperate with authorities.

“All the vehicle owners with registration numbers on the attached list are advised to report at any nearest police station to assist in the ongoing investigations within the next seven days,” Nyathi said.

He stressed the importance of compliance, adding: “Vehicle owners and those in possession of the vehicles are urged to cooperate with the police to assist in the maintenance of law and order in the country.”

Nyathi also urged drivers to respect traffic laws to improve road safety. “The Zimbabwe Republic Police implores motorists to observe road rules and regulations to enhance the smooth flow of traffic and curb road traffic accidents,” he said.

Authorities say the clampdown is part of a broader push to restore discipline among motorists and reduce accidents in the capital.
