Tinotenda Hove – Harare – Popular Zimbabwean socialite Ritzmcleish Strawbae, real name Michelle Moyo, claims she was physically attacked on Thursday morning over remarks she made on social media.

Taking to Facebook shortly after the alleged incident, the controversial content creator posted an emotional account of what had happened, suggesting that her outspoken online persona may have triggered the confrontation.

“Just got attacked makuseni,” she wrote, which translates to “I was attacked early in the morning.” She added that the assailants accused her of being “too full of herself” online.

“Hanzi ndiri kuzvinyanya,” she continued in the post, meaning “They said I’m overdoing it.” Moyo also expressed confusion over the motive, stating, “But inga ndakati handichaita content yekutuka vanhu,” which means “But I had already said I’d stopped making content where I insult people.”

In what appeared to be a plea for help, she asked for assistance in identifying the alleged attackers. “Help me find the culprits. Vanga vane honda fit ye red ABX6314,” she wrote, identifying the suspects’ vehicle as a red Honda Fit with the license plate ABX6314.

Strawbæ, known for her bold, often provocative social media content, ended the post with a heartfelt reflection on her work and its personal costs. “Tine tichiita content kuti mufare, manje kana modai mwana wacho anochengetwa nani,” she said, meaning “We create content to entertain you all, but if you hurt me, who will take care of my child?”

The post quickly drew support from fans and fellow content creators, many of whom condemned the violence and called for accountability.

At the time of publishing, it was unclear whether Moyo had reported the incident to the police. Attempts to reach her for further comment were unsuccessful.

This incident highlights the growing tensions between online expression and real-world consequences in Zimbabwe’s social media landscape.
