Harare- Zimbabwean authorities arrested the editor of The Zimbabwe Independent, Faith Zaba over a satirical article published last week in a column, the Muckracker.

Zaba was detained in Harare on allegations of undermining the authority of or insulting the President.
According to MISA Zimbabwe, the police insisted on detaining Zaba despite recording her warned and cautionary statement pending a court appearance today (Wednesday).
According to her lawyer, Chris Mhike, the state’s actions are deeply disappointing considering Zaba’s current medical condition.
Said Mhike:
“We are deeply disappointed with the determination of the authorities to lock Zaba up, even in the face of medical confirmation of her current severe illness.”
