Ten ZANU PF candidates have been cleared to contest in the party’s primary elections for the vacant Insiza North parliamentary seat, following the death of long-serving MP Farai Taruvinga in March 2025.
The party’s vetting committee confirmed that all ten candidates met the required criteria and will compete in the internal elections scheduled for May 3, 2025. The approved candidates are:
- Dr. Qhubani Moyo

- Ernest Ncube
- Lindelwe Ndlovu
- Clever Moyo
- Clever Sibanda
- Nkosilomusa Langa
- Delani Moyo
- Davison Moyo
- Sifiso Mpofu
ZANU PF described the contest as highly competitive, with notable party figures vying for the seat. “All candidates have successfully satisfied the vetting requirements,” the party said in a statement.
As preparations for the primaries intensify, the internal race is expected to highlight the candidates’ political strengths, grassroots support, and loyalty to the party. The winner will go on to represent ZANU PF in the upcoming by-election for Insiza North—a constituency seen as a traditional stronghold for the ruling party.
Key Details:

The outcome of the primaries will not only determine ZANU PF’s by-election candidate but also reflect the party’s internal power dynamics and strategic direction in the region.
