Tinotenda Hove – Two people lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries in a horrific road traffic accident along the Mutare–Nyanga Road on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the crash occurred at the 52-kilometre peg near Pafiwa High School in Mutasa District.

According to police, a Nissan Caravan kombi carrying six passengers towards Nyanga collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla travelling towards Mutare with three passengers on board.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Bonda Mission Hospital for post-mortem, while the injured were admitted to the same hospital for treatment.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the country’s roads to prevent further loss of life.
