Harare- Two Hurungwe Rural Development Committee (RDC) officials will spend the next 18 years behind bars over fraud, the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission has revealed.
This follows the conviction of engineer Romeo Mupamaonde, Alfred Makama and Batsirayi Nyamayaro of Anstand Investments, who were found guilty of defrauding council funds meant for Chehoko Causeway bridge construction.
Said the ZACC in a post:
“Three years of their sentences were suspended on condition they do not commit a similar offence in 5 years. They were also fined $5,000 fine each.
Anstand Investments was also fined $5,000. The Chief Executive Officer, Luke Kalavina was acquitted but remains in custody for sentencing on other charges.”
