Harare — Zimbabwean dancehall artist Jimmy Mudereri, widely known by his stage name Silent Killer, has finally opened up about his much-publicized absence from a recent UK tour, laying the blame squarely on the promoter.

The controversial chanter, known for his fiery lyrics and no-nonsense attitude, stirred speculation after missing the international show, with some fans and media outlets alleging bizarre reasons — including claims that he had dreamt of a plane explosion. But Silent Killer has dismissed those rumors as baseless.

“That story about a dream is fake. People just want to create drama,” Silent Killer told reporters. “The real issue was money. I was supposed to get $2,000, but I only received $600.”

According to the artist, the remaining $1,400 was never paid, and even more crucially, he had asked for a small sum to support his family during his absence.

“I told them I needed $300 to leave at home, just for basic things, but they couldn’t even give me that. How was I supposed to travel knowing my people were left with nothing?” he explained.

Silent Killer, no stranger to controversy in both the music scene and his personal life, also expressed disappointment with how his worth was undervalued.

Though the UK trip was billed as a major moment for Zimbabwean dancehall abroad, Silent Killer’s no-show cast a shadow over the event and sparked debates online about artist exploitation and mismanagement in showbiz.

Whether this saga dents his rising profile or adds to his enigmatic persona remains to be seen, but one thing is clear — Silent Killer isn’t keeping quiet anymore.
