Tinotenda Hove – The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League bursts back into action this Friday with a high-stakes clash at Rufaro Stadium, as title-chasing newcomers Scottland take on relegation-threatened ZPC Kariba.

For Scottland, this is more than just another league fixture — it’s a golden opportunity to make a statement in their debut top-flight season. Sitting just a single point behind log leaders and defending champions Simba Bhora, a win on Friday would propel the Mabvuku-based outfit to the summit, at least temporarily. Their confidence is sky-high after stringing together five consecutive league victories.

ZPC Kariba, however, have very different priorities. While currently occupying 8th place, they are only six points clear of the drop zone. Every point matters, and their strong defensive record has been key to keeping them in the fight for survival.

Saturday’s fixtures promise more drama, with Simba Bhora travelling to Norton for a tricky encounter against MWOS at Ngoni Stadium. MWOS, once early-season pace-setters, have struggled in the second half of the campaign.

Also on Saturday, Ngezi Platinum Stars host Bikita Minerals at Baobab, Green Fuel welcome Herentals in Chisumbanje, and Chicken Inn face Manica Diamonds in a tense relegation battle.

Sunday will see Highlanders take on TelOne at Barbourfields, CAPS United — desperate to reverse their poor form — meeting Yadah at Rufaro, Triangle hosting FC Platinum at Gibbo, and a bottom-of-the-table scrap between Kwekwe United and Dynamos.
