Tinotenda Hove – Real Madrid are making a determined effort to sign Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold before the FIFA Club World Cup kicks off on June 14, 2025, according to journalist Jorge Picon.

Despite the 26-year-old’s current contract with Liverpool expiring on June 30, Madrid are hoping to secure his services earlier through a special FIFA transfer window open from June 1 to 10. Their goal is to have Alexander-Arnold available for their first match against Al-Hilal on June 18. This deal would require Liverpool’s cooperation and would likely involve a modest transfer fee.

Midfielder Jude Bellingham has reportedly played a key role in persuading Alexander-Arnold to consider the move. Real Madrid’s urgency stems from Dani Carvajal’s ongoing recovery from an ACL injury and doubts surrounding Lucas Vázquez’s consistency.

However, Liverpool’s own participation in the Club World Cup and their likely resistance to losing a key player mid-tournament could present significant obstacles to Madrid’s plan.
