Tinotenda Hove – Zanu PF hardliner and online activist C.H Mukungunugwa has sparked outrage after posting what he called President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s “achievements” on social media, at a time when ordinary Zimbabweans are battling hunger, joblessness, and an economy in freefall.
Mukungunugwa wrote on X:
“In just 6 years under President ED Mnangagwa’s leadership, the nation has achieved:
✅ Africa’s Best Airport ✅ Africa’s Best Parliament Building ✅ World-class highways & roads ✅ Modern hospitals rivaling Dubai standards ✅ Africa’s biggest steel plant at Manhize ✅ The continent’s most advanced border post at Beitbridge
👉 All built using Zimbabwe’s own resources!
The people have spoken: President Mnangagwa continues to lead from State House until further notice!”
But critics say the so-called “achievements” are nothing more than hollow propaganda designed to polish Mnangagwa’s image while millions languish in poverty.
“What hospitals? Ordinary Zimbabweans are dying in clinics with no medicine, no doctors, and no electricity. To compare them to Dubai is an insult,” one Masvingo resident told this publication.
Another analyst said Mukungunugwa’s comments reflect the arrogance of the ruling elite: “They boast of monuments while citizens queue for hours for basic food, suffer record unemployment, and flee the country in droves. If this is development, then Zimbabweans are living in a parallel universe.”
While the regime builds shiny structures for show, bread prices, transport costs, and inflation continue to crush families. For many, the only achievement under Mnangagwa has been the deepening of poverty, corruption, and hopelessness.
