Tinotenda Hove – The opposition party, Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC), has taken a sharp swipe at Zanu PF, accusing the ruling party of failing to translate Zimbabwe’s abundant mineral wealth into tangible benefits for ordinary citizens.

In a statement released on Thursday, FFC highlighted the stark contrast between the nation’s underground riches and the poverty experienced by the majority of Zimbabweans.

“Riches beneath, poverty above. Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth should fuel prosperity, not perpetuate struggle,” the statement read.

The party called for a new era of leadership, urging politicians to prioritize the welfare of the people over personal gain. “It’s time for visionary leaders who’ll put people over profits,” the statement added.

FFC is also using social media to rally support, encouraging citizens to join their campaign for systemic change. “Join the movement for a brighter future. #WeMove,” the statement concluded.

This criticism comes amid growing public frustration over economic hardships, soaring inflation, and allegations of corruption in Zimbabwe’s mining sector. FFC’s bold message is aimed at galvanizing citizens ahead of upcoming political contests, positioning itself as a force demanding accountability and equitable development.
