Tinotenda Hove – Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) leader Michael Makaza has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of children in Kuwadzana, describing the incident as a heartbreaking reflection of the country’s worsening social and economic conditions.
In a media statement issued over the weekend, Makaza said his thoughts were with the grieving families who lost their loved ones under horrific circumstances. “To the bereaved Kuwadzana families, my heart goes out to you during this incredibly difficult time.
The loss of your loved ones, brutally taken from us and found under such horrific circumstances, is a stark reminder of the depths of desperation and pain in our society,” he said.
Makaza condemned the senseless act and linked it to the growing economic hardships that have left many Zimbabweans struggling to survive.
“As leader of Freedom Fighters for Change, I condemn this senseless act and acknowledge the economic crisis that pushes our citizens to the wall. Joblessness and desperation should never force anyone to extremes,” he stated.
He added that the tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for urgent reforms to address poverty and unemployment, saying his movement stood firmly with the affected families. “We stand with you in your grief and demand justice for the victims. We will continue to fight for a Zimbabwe where every citizen has opportunities and lives with dignity,” Makaza said.
The opposition leader concluded his message by calling for unity and resilience, urging citizens to remain steadfast in the quest for change. “May your loved ones rest in peace, and may their memories inspire us to keep pushing for change,” he said.
