Harare- The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested NetOne Cellular (Pvt) Ltd’s Chief Executive Officer, Raphael Mushanawani, on allegations of fraud involving over US$1.2 million.

said the ZACC in a statement:

It is alleged that in 2022, NetOne Cellular (Pvt) Ltd engaged Farevic Systems (Pvt) Ltd to replace the SAGE 1000 system with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at a contract price of US$3.5 million.

While the project was still underway, Mushanawani, allegedly acting in common purpose with Christopher Muchechemera from the finance department and without the knowledge of the Executive Committee and the Board, engaged Lunartech Solutions (Pvt) Ltd to upgrade the SAGE 1000 system at a cost of US$257,600.

He allegedly entered into two additional contract addendums, raising the cost of upgrading the system slated for replacement to US$1.2 million.

Furthermore, Mushanawani allegedly entered into another unapproved contract with Diztech (Pvt) Ltd at a cost of US$79,467.00 for consultancy and training services, which were already covered under the Farevic Systems (Pvt) Ltd contract.

Mushanawani is expected to appear at Harare Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
