Tinotenda Hove – ZANU PF President and First Secretary, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has brushed aside concerns over internal divisions within the ruling party, instead choosing to commend the Central Committee for what he described as its critical oversight role.

Addressing Central Committee members at the ZANU PF headquarters in Harare on Thursday, Mnangagwa praised the body for its continued efforts in monitoring the implementation of government programmes and development projects.

“Our party remains united and focused. The Central Committee continues to play a vital oversight role, ensuring that government initiatives align with our vision of national development,” Mnangagwa said.

While speculation about infighting within the party has persisted, particularly around succession and factional dynamics, the President’s remarks appeared aimed at projecting stability and confidence in ZANU PF’s leadership structures.

Mnangagwa emphasized the need for discipline and collective responsibility, urging members to put the interests of the people first.

“We must remain steadfast in our commitment to serve the nation and deliver on the promises we made to the people,” he added.

His comments come amid growing public scrutiny and internal rumblings over the party’s handling of key national issues, including the economy and public service delivery. Despite this, Mnangagwa’s tone was one of reassurance, suggesting that ZANU PF remains firmly in control of both its internal affairs and national governance agenda.
