Tinotenda Hove- Zimbabwean Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Themba Gorimbo has fired shots at controversial clergyman and ZANU PF supporter Passion Java, mocking his flashy lifestyle and questioning his authenticity.

In a fiery statement last week, Gorimbo took to social media to air his views on Java, calling out the controversial preacher for allegedly misleading President Emmerson Mnangagwa and presenting a false image of wealth.

“Hona kani. Vanoti muzita ra baba apa ndivo futi vaba,” Gorimbo began, implying that Java uses God’s name while behaving dishonestly.

He went further to sarcastically praise Java’s deception skills, saying, “Passion yacho kani, but one thing I admire is Passion ndiye munhu wega akapusisa ED nemamwe maZimba achiti ane cash but achiroja zvake kumapurazi eMaryland.”

Gorimbo alleged that Java rented farms and vehicles in the United States just to keep up appearances, stating: “Neku hire mota kuma car hire eku America achiita ma videos 5 to 6 in different customs on different days.”

Although the fighter acknowledged that Java may have once had access to resources, he suggested that the preacher’s wealth was now depleted. “But ha, yeku hire aivawo nayo zvake, but ikozvino ma returns of investments haachaiti so he acted humble and said he want to sell the cars he never had.”

Gorimbo’s comments have reignited public debates on social media around Passion Java’s opulence and political alignment, with many questioning the role of church leaders in politics and their influence on national narratives.

Java, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial prophecies, is yet to respond to the matter.
