Tinotenda Hove – Freedom Fighters for Change leader Michael Makaza has officially announced that his new political party will be launched on September 13, positioning the movement as a bold alternative in Zimbabwe’s opposition landscape.

In a statement released this week, Makaza framed the launch as a turning point for the nation, evoking scripture to rally support for what he describes as a people-powered revolution.

“My dear brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe, as we count down to the launch of Freedom Fighters for Change on September 13th, I want to remind you of the words of Psalm 118:22-23 — ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes,'” said Makaza.

He emphasized that the party stands for those who have long been sidelined in Zimbabwe’s political and economic systems.

“We are the stones that have been rejected, but we will rise to become the cornerstone of a new Zimbabwe. Join me on this journey to reclaim our nation and build a brighter future,” he declared.

Makaza, a relatively new voice in mainstream politics, has gained traction online under the banner of #WeMove, calling for political renewal, transparency, and economic justice. The upcoming launch is expected to mark the party’s official entry into the national political arena, with growing interest from the youth and diaspora communities.

With the political temperature rising ahead of the event, all eyes will be on September 13 to see what Freedom Fighters for Change will bring to the country’s ever-evolving political landscape.
