Tinotenda Hove -MASVINGO – Two people died on the spot following a fatal road traffic accident along the Masvingo–Mbalabala Road on 11 August 2025.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the tragedy, which occurred at the 87-kilometre peg at around 10:00 pm. According to police, the driver of a Toyota Hilux, who had one passenger on board, lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle veered off the road, overturned, and landed on its side, killing both occupants instantly.

Police have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly at night, and to avoid speeding or reckless driving.

Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
