Tinotenda Hove – A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Bulawayo following a deadly stabbing incident at the C-Turn junction in Entumbane, where a long-standing grudge ended in bloodshed.

According to a statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspect, Mxolisi Ncube, allegedly stabbed 25-year-old Maqhawe Nkomo once in the right thigh with a knife, leading to his death.

The incident occurred on August 5, 2025, and is believed to have been triggered by a previous altercation in which the victim’s friends had allegedly assaulted the suspect.

“On 05/08/25, police in Bulawayo arrested Mxolisi Ncube (20) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at C-Turn junction, Entumbane. The suspect allegedly stabbed Maqhawe Nkomo (25) once on the right thigh with a knife following a previous misunderstanding in which the victim’s friends assaulted the suspect,” read the police statement.

Police investigations are still underway. Authorities have once again appealed to the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to report violent conduct to the police before it escalates into tragedy.
