Tinotenda Hove – The controversy surrounding social media personality Mai Jeremaya has taken a dramatic new turn, as a man identifying himself as Baba Tanya has come forward with explosive claims of intimate exchanges, financial transactions, and explicit content allegedly shared between them.
Mai Jeremaya, already under public scrutiny after a court ruling last week found she fabricated rape allegations, now faces further humiliation as Baba Tanya alleges she solicited money for hairdos and mobile data while sending nude pictures and sexually suggestive messages.
Speaking to tabloid H-Metro, Baba Tanya revealed that in 2023, he sent US$300 to the married influencer, despite never meeting her in person. He claims Mai Jeremaya, a mother of three who has been married for eight years, approached him claiming to be “lonely” and “horny”, initiating conversations that quickly turned sexual.
“She was ever demanding to meet me for sex,” Baba Tanya said. “I deliberately avoided meeting her, lied about some false trips, but I sent the money she demanded for her hair-do and data.”
He also alleged that Mai Jeremaya frequently sent him nude photographs, including images of her private parts, which she later regretted sending.
“Check in some of our conversations, she ended up regretting sending the pictures,” he added. “She would ask me to meet her at a bus stop opposite Waterfalls Police Station.”
To protect himself from potential backlash or denials, Baba Tanya says he has kept all the evidence, including screenshots, call logs, and nudes. He claimed he even offered to testify during the now-dismissed rape case, believing the influencer’s conduct to be manipulative and dishonest.
Some excerpts of the alleged messages include:
“I am so lonely, do you know that? Call me kana waapa Waterfalls Police. I think network is bad ikutadza ku deliver…”
“Today, I’m going ku shoot. Unenge wakundifonera wonzwa kuti ndiri papi coz I’m going to Chitungwiza.”
“As I look back in the past year, I’d like to acknowledge you in helping me shape my brand and business simply by associating with me. Thank you so much. I wish you and your family all the best for the New Year 2024.”
Despite the bombshell allegations, Mai Jeremaya has yet to respond publicly. Her husband, known as JMP, has so far stood by her, previously declaring his support in the face of mounting legal and social pressure.
The unfolding scandal has reignited debates around the dangers of social media fame, digital evidence, and manipulation in personal relationships.
