The accident occurred around midnight on the A‑52 highway when their vehicle veered off the road and burst into flames .

This heart-wrenching news comes just weeks after Jota married his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he shared three young children . He had celebrated their wedding on 22 June.

Widely admired for his dynamic play, Jota had become a fan favourite since joining Liverpool in 2020.
