Trymore Tore, a 37-year-old man from Mubairacheni Village in Hurungwe, has been arraigned on three counts of murder at the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court. The allegations against Tore are gruesome: between February 15 and 17, 2025, he allegedly killed his wife, Moline Chibayanzara, with an axe following a domestic dispute and disposed of her body in a pit latrine ¹.

Tore is also accused of killing the village head, Kuwesi Masau, with an axe when he attempted to intervene, and burying him in a shallow grave. Additionally, he allegedly stabbed Anety Nabwalo with a kitchen knife and dumped her body under tree branches ¹.

A blood-stained axe and knife were recovered by investigators. In a disturbing turn of events, Tore attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself six times before his arrest ².

The suspect has been remanded to March 10, 2025, and is currently hospitalized under police guard due to public outrage. Villagers had reported that Tore had been threatening them, and his life is now in danger ¹.

The case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice to be served. As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, seeking answers and closure for the victims’ families.
