A horrific murder has sent shockwaves through the town of Kadoma, leaving residents in fear and outrage. A local businesswoman was brutally killed on Wednesday night, with signs pointing to a possible ritualistic attack.
The victim, who ran a shop at Mateketa Complex, was found lifeless in a grassy area across Jason Moyo Road. According to Inspector Ian Kohwera, police spokesperson for Mashonaland West, the attack occurred around 9 PM on April 23. The woman sustained severe cuts to her head, shoulder, and wrist, and her body was discovered in a pool of blood.
The crime scene revealed disturbing evidence, including a blue bucket filled with water, dried leaves, half-cut lemons, white tissues, and new grass brooms. A pair of male boxer shorts was also found under the victim’s body. Authorities believe the attackers fled after being startled by a nearby resident who heard the victim’s screams.
“We can confirm a case of murder which happened on April 23, 2025, around 9 PM in Kadoma,” said Inspector Kohwera. “The body has since been taken to Kadoma General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.”
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help identify the deceased and apprehend the perpetrators.
The community is demanding increased security measures and swift justice for the victim.
