Tinotenda Hove – Zimbabwean Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Themba Gorimbo has sparked national debate after launching a blistering attack on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government, accusing it of corruption, failure to provide basic services, and turning a blind eye to the suffering of ordinary citizens.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media on Wednesday, Gorimbo did not hold back, condemning the government’s failure to provide even the most basic public services such as emergency healthcare, which he said has left ordinary citizens helpless and abandoned.

“Zero basic service. No emergency service the whole country for poor Zimbabweans yet moti inovakwa nevene vayo,” he wrote, referencing the regime’s repeated slogan “nyika inovakwa nevene vayo” (the country is built by its own people).
