Tinotenda Hove- Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) President Michael Makaza has announced that the newly formed political party will officially launch on September 13, 2025, in Harare, pledging to usher in what he described as “a new era” for Zimbabwe.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Makaza called on Zimbabweans to rally behind the new movement amid the ongoing economic crisis affecting millions across the country.
“September 13, 2025, a new era dawns in Zimbabwe!” Makaza declared. “Join us in Harare as we officially launch the Freedom Fighters for Change party.”
He described the upcoming launch event as a celebration of hope and change, urging citizens to come out in their numbers.
“Tell a friend to tell a friend: the time for change is here! Celebrate with us as we bid farewell to sorrow and hello to a brighter future,” he said.
The statement comes at a time when Zimbabwe continues to grapple with high inflation, unemployment, and deteriorating public services. Makaza said his party would provide fresh solutions and accountable leadership to address the country’s deepening economic woes.
“Come in thousands, come in hundreds of thousands! Let’s witness the birth of a new Zimbabwe together,” he added.
FFC has positioned itself as a youth-driven, reform-oriented alternative to the ruling ZANU PF, promising to tackle corruption, revive the economy, and restore dignity to Zimbabwean citizens.
As political temperatures begin to rise ahead of the party’s debut, all eyes will be on the turnout and messaging at the launch rally, which Makaza hopes will mark the beginning of a major political shift.
