Tinotenda Hove- Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) has raised concern over the manner in which roadblocks are being conducted across the country, warning that heavy-handed policing is damaging Zimbabwe’s already struggling economy.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the political party stressed that while checkpoints can be necessary, they must not become tools of harassment or unnecessary delay.

“Roadblocks shouldn’t hold us back! Let’s ensure they’re implemented fairly and efficiently,” FFC said.

The party noted that checkpoints every 20 kilometers could be acceptable, but only if they are run professionally.

“Every 20 kilometers, a block is okay, but let’s make sure proper procedures are followed, searches are conducted respectfully, and citizens aren’t delayed unnecessarily,” the statement added.

FFC emphasized that unnecessary delays at roadblocks stifle productivity, disrupt trade, and discourage economic activity at a time when Zimbabwe urgently needs growth.

“Our economy thrives when we allow progress! Let’s #WeMove towards a better Zimbabwe, where #RoadJustice is fair and efficient,” the party declared.
