Tinotenda Hove – Harare giants Dynamos have boosted their survival chances in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after overcoming Green Fuel 2–0 in a must-win fixture at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
The Glamour Boys produced a spirited display on Matchday 26, showing resilience and determination in front of their home crowd. Jairos Kasondo broke the deadlock shortly after the restart, before Temptation Chiwunga doubled the lead from the penalty spot, securing three vital points for the former champions.
Although Dynamos remain second from bottom with 25 points, the victory trimmed the gap to safety to just three points. It was also their third league win in a row and their fifth consecutive triumph in all competitions under coach Kelvin Kaindu, reigniting hope among their loyal supporters as the season enters its closing stages.
Meanwhile, fellow Harare giants CAPS United also picked up maximum points, while Highlanders completed a flawless weekend for the country’s football heavyweights. Pieter De Jongh’s return to the Bosso bench began on a high note as his side edged Bikita Minerals 2–1, courtesy of a Benjamin Adeogun penalty and a well-taken goal by Reason Sibanda. Bikita staged a late rally, but Highlanders held on for victory.
