Tinotenda Hove – A tragic road traffic accident claimed two lives and left 13 others injured early Monday morning along Lomagundi Road, between Harare Drive and the Westgate roundabout.
The collision occurred around 4:30 AM when a Toyota Dyna truck loaded with agricultural produce rammed into the rear of a Mazda B22 truck carrying passengers into the city.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to ZBC News said the impact was so severe that the Mazda veered off the road and slammed into a tree.
“The impact caused the Mazda to veer off the road and hit a tree. The injured were rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment,” police in Harare confirmed.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is currently investigating the incident, and authorities have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution, particularly during early morning hours when poor visibility and driver fatigue often contribute to fatal crashes.
More details are expected as investigations progress.
