Tinotenda Hove – The Office of the Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, has firmly distanced itself from a recent event that has been falsely linked to his name and Government institutions.

In a strongly worded statement, the Vice President’s office described the gathering as a “fraudulent pseudo-event” that violates Government protocol and is being used to deceive and extort the public.

“The Office of the Hon. Vice President Gen. (Rtd) Dr. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga disassociates itself from the ‘event’ which has nothing to do with the Government, blatantly violates Government protocol; and goes against organisational norms,” the statement reads.

The Vice President expressed deep concern and disapproval over attempts to associate him with such activities.

“The Vice President takes great exception to being associated with such a fraudulent pseudo-event designed to extort the unsuspecting public through false association with him and other figures of Government,” the office stated.

Authorities have not disclosed the name of the event in question, but warned members of the public to remain alert and verify the authenticity of any function claiming Government endorsement.
