Happy International Women’s Day!!!!
Running under the theme Acclerate Action, this year, we feature a great woman, who has accelerated against and defied all odds. The first Black Traffic Safety Female Officer.
Having her career starting in 1988 where she began her journey as the first female Black Traffic Safety Officer, responsible for educating drivers on good driving practices. She was later promoted in 2004 to Traffic Safety Manager becoming also the first female Traffic Safety Manager, serving in various regions including Midlands, Manicaland, and Masvingo. Whether it was leading to the successful launch of a new Traffic Safety Office in any region or mentoring countless new employees, her dedication and passion has been truly inspiring.
Ms Georgina Mateta has so far dedicated 37 years to Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, and her impact is immeasurable. From the beginning, she brought not only a wealth of knowledge and expertise but also a spirit of camaraderie and kindness that makes our workplace feel like a second home.
Today, she is the Regional Traffic Safety Manager for the Midlands Province continuing with the thrust of promoting road safety in the midlands.
