Harare- HSTV journalist  Blessed Mhlanga, who, was released from prison after 73 days over incitement charges has pleaded with Zimbabweans to stop advising him to be silent over his incarceration.

Mhlanga, who has been denied bail thrice since February 24 revealed in a twitter post how well meaning Zimbabweans have been advising him to be silent “so that those who caused his arrest can feel he learnt his lesson.”

Mhlanga was in pre trial detention for interviewing war veteran, Blessed Runesu Geza who called for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s resignation.

He posted:

“Well meaning Zimbo’s have been asking me 2 be silent so that those who caused my arrest can feel I learnt my lesson & let me free.

It’s my prayer that your support is based on your belief of free speech. So Please stop giving me that advice, I am not listening – thank you.”
