Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains optimistic about his team’s chances of winning the English Premier League title, despite a recent downturn in form. The Gunners’ goalless draw against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday has left them 13 points behind leaders Liverpool.
However, Arteta is undeterred, emphasizing the importance of focusing on winning their remaining matches. “The only thing we can do is win our matches and see how many points we accumulate,” he said in an interview with ESPN.
Arteta acknowledged that dropping two points against Nottingham Forest was “painful,” but he was proud of his team’s character and determination. “We showed undeniable character in how much we wanted it and tried. We dominated the game, tried in many different ways, and kept insisting.”
The Arsenal manager identified the need to generate more shots on target as a key area for improvement. “We need to find that spark, that final pass to break down a well-organized team,” he said.
Despite the setback, Arteta’s optimism and refusal to concede the title hint at a thrilling conclusion to the Premier League season.
