Masvingo Provincial Education Director, Shylet Mhike, has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on charges of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer.

Mhike appeared before the Masvingo Magistrates Court, where she was granted bail set at US$200.00 and remanded to appear again on March 19, 2025.

She stands accused of demanding a US$600.00 travel and subsistence allowance for a verification exercise in Chivi District, despite not participating in the activity.

It is alleged that Mhike conspired with District Schools Inspector Ndongwe Evershine to pressure Chivi District Accountant Tapiwa Mapindani into processing the fraudulent payment.
